Vision is becoming unavoidable in robotics. It is often under-evaluated compared with the choice of robot: it is a key element that must be mastered and never neglected in the industrial process.
Many projects have been compromised because of the vision system:
- a system poorly suited to the process,
- poorly defined lighting,
- a commissioning time that was too long,
- an environment that was not under control…
Having commissioned many industrial vision systems, I get involved in their selection, in defining their layout, in lighting and in programming.
